2007 has been a busy year for Brendan Dempsey. When not gigging around the UK and just after Johannesbourg, he reprised his role as Chief Bromden in the record breaking West End production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest for a national 13 week tour. He then went immediately into a three month, shoot for a new BBC children’s comedy series, The Revenge Files of Alistair Fury. Brendan will be seen playing the Dad – Sean Fury – when it is broadcast in the New Year.

Besides Edinburgh, Brendan has been invited to play festivals in Montreal, Melbourne, Adelaide, Kansas, Finland and numerous times to Kilkenny. He’s performed to audiences throughout Europe, across America, and South East Asia, and continues to play the circuit, going from city to town to attempted village in a variety of venues from the Comedy Store to The Nant-y-finn Motel, Llandissilio.

Brendan was awarded a REMI for his directorial debut Barking Mad at the Houston Worldfest. In the space of one year, he was hired as a writer and performer on seven different radio series for the Irish national Broadcaster RTE.
Twenty minutes into Sunday’s edition and you were wondering which of them came up with the idea for this piece of tricksy radio. It wouldn’t have worked on any other medium … this was a wonderfully worked spoof.
