Aonghus Og McAnally
Biography
-
Aonghus trained at the Samuel Beckett Centre, Trinity College Dublin, graduating with a BA in Acting Studies there in 2002. He also trained with Anne Bogart's SITI Co. in New York. Aonghus has since appeared as Benvolio in Second Age's production of Romeo and Juliet at the Gaiety Theatre and as Lieutenant Langon in two productions of The Plough and The Stars directed by Ben Barnes at the Abbey Theatre. Other theatre work includes Yeats' CuChulainn Cycle at R.H.A. Downstairs, Dublin and Riverside Studios, London, The Wire Garden for Corcadorca, Buile an Phuce for Amharclann de hIde, Not a Moment to Lose for Torn Curtain and Hamlet for Second Age. Most recently Aonghus appeared in Myrmidons for Ouroborous Theatre Co and as Ferdinand in The Tempest directed by Pat Kiernan for Corcadorca Theatre Company as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival.
Film and television work includes Ella Enchanted, The Nephew and A Basketful of Wallpaper. Aonghus appeared for two seasons as Mikey in Ros Na Run for TG4. More recently Aonghus has appeared in The Longest Ditch (Espresso Films), Proof (Subotica/RTE), The Clinic (Parallel FIlms/RTE), Pride And Joy (RTE), The Tigers Tale, The Running Mate(TG4), Murphy's Law (BBC) and Prosperity(Element/RTE) which airs on RTE in Autumn 2007.
